Ourcoot began with a wish to visit profiles, meet people and talk about shared interests again. A simple message can start a conversation, and a community can become part of your everyday life.
Inspired by Orkut
Our inspiration is an internet of personal profiles, scraps, testimonials and forums where curiosity led to conversation. We want that sense of belonging in a modern interface for phones and computers. Ourcoot is independent and is not affiliated with Orkut or Google.
Your profile is your place
Your photo, introduction, interests and chosen color make your profile your own. Scraps are public messages to say hello or start a conversation. Testimonials express appreciation and only appear after their recipient approves them.
Communities for today’s interests
Nostalgia is a starting point, but the subjects belong to today: coffee, films, music, sports, hobbies or an idea to share. Communities organize discussions into topics with chronological replies and polls, so you can follow a conversation and return to it later.
Explore at your own pace
Choose where to spend your time: visiting a profile, writing a scrap, finding a community or continuing a conversation. Profile visits are part of discovery and can be disabled in privacy settings. You decide what to share about yourself.
A project taking its first steps
Ourcoot is in beta. We are improving it through use and feedback from the people who join. No invitation is needed. Our aim is a welcoming place to express yourself, discover interests and belong.
Care is part of it
Profiles, scraps and forums are public. Share thoughtfully and respect other people. Settings include privacy controls and account deletion. Our policies explain data handling and how to ask for help.
