OUR BACKYARD, WITH CARE
Security
Practical protection and transparency about its limits.
Updated October 31, 2026
Existing safeguards
Ourcoot uses HTTPS for data in transit and Neon Auth for login. The application checks sessions and permissions, validates submitted data and limits write frequency. These measures reduce risks; no online service is immune to failures.
Protect yourself
Use a unique password, check ourcoot.com before signing in and sign out on shared devices. Never share passwords or access codes. Profiles, scraps and forums are public, not private messages. Do not publish documents, banking details or precise locations. User content is not necessarily verified.
Report a problem
Report scams, harassment or unauthorized access to support@ourcoot.com. Report personal-data exposure or privacy incidents to privacy@ourcoot.com. Include a link, description and approximate time, but never your password. Email support is not an emergency service.
Current limitations
This version has no two-factor authentication interface, report button or user-blocking feature. Support and content-review requests are handled by email. We do not claim audits or security certifications that have not been obtained.
